Dua Lipa is a British singer/songwriter born in London United Kingdom on August 22nd 1995. Dua Lipa signed with Warner Bros Records in 2014 following her work as an actress and then released her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album climbed up to the third place on the U.K. Chart for Albums. The album released eight singles and included Be the only I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules (UK number one). It also rose at the number 6 spot within the United States. Lipa was awarded the Brit Awards in 2018 for British Female Solo Artist as well as British Breakthrough Act and her album has been certified platinum in several countries worldwide. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her mother is Bosnian. Her family tree can be tracked back to the Kosovo town of Peja. Her grandparents were historians as well. Gjin and Rina are her twins. Lipa was musically influenced by her father who is also the lead guitar player and the singer of the Kosovan the group Oda. While at home, her father would play his own compositions and songs of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began to sing when she was just 5 years old. In just her ninth year she began singing at Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has covered If I Am Not Got You and Beautiful from Christina Aguilera and posted it on YouTube. In 2014 Lipa was signed to a contract with Warner Bros. Records. The singer released her debut single New Love in August of 2015.
