sylvester stalloneSylvester Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 as Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. The oldest son of Francesco Stallone, Sr. (a hairdresser) and Jackie Stallone (astrologer, and dancer). Frank Stallone is his younger brother and actor. Due to complications in the birth of his daughter, Sylvester's lower left side was crippled. This led to the now famous "snarling" and slurred speech and distinctive appearance. Due to the tense relationship between his parents, Stallone spent his first years in foster care. The couple divorced later. Stallone trained in drama in Switzerland at the American College before moving on to Miami University. He left school before having completed his studies and relocated to New York City to pursue acting as a profession.
